The global URGENT RUN
for UN WORLD TOILET DAY
The Urgent Run, World Toilet Organization’s annual event for UN World Toilet Day, is a global run to call for urgent action to end the sanitation crisis.
World Toilet Day was established by World Toilet Organization in 2001 to draw attention to global sanitation issues. In 2013, the UN adopted World Toilet Day as an official UN international day: UN World Toilet Day on 19th November.
The Urgent Run brings together communities around the world for a run or walk for sanitation in November, in the lead-up to UN World Toilet Day. It raises awareness of the global sanitation challenge and engages people with sanitation issues in their local communities.
In 2014, 22 Urgent Runs were organised in 13 countries. Together, let’s make an even bigger global ‘stink’ for sanitation in 2015!
The Urgent Run is endorsed by UN-Water.
